Before Springfield gathers on September 25, the two men at the center of the evening picked up the phone. Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, Honorary Chairman of the Healing Mass and the longest-serving mayor in the city’s history, called Fr. Giuseppe Maria Siniscalchi, CFR, the Franciscan friar who will celebrate the Mass.
Fr. Giuseppe practiced law for nine years before he entered religious life. Today he serves as superior of St. Mary of the Assumption Friary in Newburgh, New York. In this conversation, he and the Mayor look ahead to an evening of prayers and Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish.
