- Nathan Bills Bar and Restaurant, 110 Island Pond Rd. · $10 dinner, $20 with Big Wheels night racing
By 2018 the pink ribbon on the flyer had become a rainbow one, and the name on the poster was no longer Pink Mass but Celebration of Hope: A Mass for Cancer Survivors, Families, and Caregivers. Saturday October 20, four in the afternoon, St. Michael’s Cathedral, 260 State Street. Three words in script across the bottom: Live, Rejoice, Hope.
The honorees that year were the Sullivan Family. Msgr. Christopher Connelly gave the greeting; Bishop Rozanski and the cathedral’s staff and parishioners are thanked in the program alongside the Sullivans and Catholic Communications Corporation. The Cancer is limited poem is on the back page again.
Afterwards everyone drove out to Nathan Bills Bar and Restaurant on Island Pond Road. Ten dollars for dinner, twenty if you wanted dinner and Big Wheels night racing, which is a sentence you rarely get to write about a diocesan Mass. The proceeds went to the Sister Caritas Cancer Center Patient Fund and the D’Amour Center for Cancer Care.
That is the last event in the binder. What comes next is the Healing Mass on September 25, 2026, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, with the same celebrant who said the first one in 2011.
