- Catered dinner, prizes, balloon release, cash bar
The sixth year got a save-the-date with six balloons across the top and the entertainer’s name set larger than the organization’s. Noah Lis, from Palmer, had been a contestant on the sixth season of NBC’s The Voice; The Republican mentioned it when it previewed the season. On October 15, 2016, he played the Elks Lodge on Tiffany Street.
The shape of the evening was by now a tradition: the Pink Mass at four at St. Michael’s Cathedral, then the dinner dance at six, catered, with a chance to win prizes, a balloon release and a cash bar. Twenty dollars for adults and five for children twelve and under, the same price as 2011.
A Save the Date ad ran in The Republican that month, on Sunday October 9, on the local page. It is the first place the anchor logo shows up in the binder: a small navy anchor with a heart at its crown, set between the words Celebration and Hope. The anchor comes from Hebrews 6:19, and the next year’s Mass would be built entirely around it.
